A könyvtáramrólOur library reflects our varied interests, as well as the books acquired in the course of raising a family (3 girls and a boy). My interests are in the realm of history, so the titles appearing under the civil war, WW2, general history, etc. are books I've acquired. Karen's interests are shown in the cooking and home/decorating tags. Many of the books in the fiction tag were acquired due to her membership in one of those ubiquitous book clubs.

Hah, RE Oglethorpe....my grandfather told me once that his gransmother (Irish) had told him our family came over to GA with Oglethorpe (in chains in the hold I imagine!).
SOunds like a great trip...I hope you got to stop, briefly, at VMI's Hall of Valor at New Market, great little museum. We just took my inlaws to the southern Shenandoah area (Fort Lewis Lodge), did travel to Lexington. SInce you're reading Gate of Hell, let me recommend another trip: WIlmington NC (Fort Fisher), Charleston (Ft Sumter & others), Savannah GA (Ft Pilaski) & San Augustine FL (Castilo de San Marcos)...lots of shopping & great restaurants along the way! Regards, A
LTNS! I see you added BLENHEIM. One day we were driving in Bavaria and I realized that the nearby village of Blindheim was in fact the site of the famous battle of Blenheim. I pointed the car that way and off we went. We arrived & drove around a bit --no indication a battle had ever occurred here. I had about given up (maybe the wrong place?), when I spied a tiny metal plague on the village church wall. Sure enough,
