A könyvtáramról Fiction-wise, I like British fiction of various sorts (humorous, Jane Austen-ish, etc.) and some American fiction. Most of my nonfiction books are related to law, political science, or history.

Roy is absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks Carlym, good to know I was not the only one having problems. Thought it was my typical 'I hate computers' skill level.

Hey, that's the first comment ever on my library! Thanks for sharing the cover for the Italian Phrase Book. Have a great day. Jhamer
Carlym,
English Place Names - thank you. I've just added the image to my library...
Can you tell me how you did it? My files always work out too big!
Ian
What a sweet cat! You are blessed.
~speaking of pretty kitties!

And you have an all black one like Morgan?
:)

kitties are just the best, aren't they?

dogs too, of course,
duncan would never forgive me if I didn't say that!
It's yours - reserved for you on BM.
Thanks for suggesting the Sapolsky book. It's a subject I'd like to read more about.
Sell clothes. You'll appreciate the space for additional books :)

I am so in the mood for a good book sale, but haven't been able to get to any/find any. I envy you.
Really? I'm surprised too. I think we have some overlap with authors but carry different books, e.g., with Agatha Christie etc.
Your cat is so cute!
It's up, finally.
Hi,

I just read your great review of The Autobiography of Benjamin Franklin. I'm reading Ben Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson, and he definitely mentions much of what you note about his arrogance/humility and somewhat failed but sincere attempts to live by a morality code. Kudos to you on "seeing" that. For what it's worth, the biography is quite accessible and interesting as well.

AHA! Thank you so much for your help! Not sure why I couldn't find that yesterday, I think lack of sleep had something to do with it. During my browsing yesterday, I also discovered that you can browse the LoC website by call number, so now I have two places to search that way.

Cheers
Dani

(Roy's adorable, btw!)
Hi carlym!

I was wondering if you'd help me out. I'm usually pretty good at finding my way around websites, but I'm having a hard time browsing the NY public library site. I'm trying to use your recommendation and search on DD numbers, but I can't seem to find any kind of advanced search option where I can specify that I only want it to search by dewey numbers. Any help you could give pointing me in the right direction?

Thanks
Dani
Hi - saw your post on the what are you reading now group. I finished Wicked Lovely today and I really enjoyed it. The characters are believable and the story is fast paced and engaging. Melissa Marr is definately an author that I'll be checking out again.
Oh. On the friend thing. Try clicking connection news. I think it's on the profile page. Anyway it shows me what newest books you've added etc.
Yes. I'll definitely make the library public at some point, i.e., once I've entered all our books, but were still waiting to complete our library (so that hasn't happened yet). We're getting close though.
Greetings! I'm about to read Felipe Alou's book My Life and Baseball, which I see you've read recently. I saw your description on your 50-Book list, so I'm forewarned, but I'm looking forward to it, anyway. It was a gift from a buddy of mine, so it goes to the top of the list, regardless. Thought I'd let you know that I scanned the cover and uploaded it to LT, in case you're interested in such things. Cheers!
Hi Carlym how's it going?
Hi carlym -

Thanks for your comment on my 50 Book Challenge thread. This is my second year in the 50 Book Challenge Group, and I can't tell you how much pleasure it brought me to keep track of what I read last year.

I tried to make my goal more realistic this year, but I have been in the clutches of a kntting obsession so far in 2008, and if that doesn't change, I probably won't reach my goal this year, either. Ah well, if one's reach doesn't exceed one's grasp, etc, etc.

Anne
I just wanted to make sure you got this reply! It comes from a comment you left on the 50 book challenge for me. I really did enjoy William Zinsser's On Writing Well. Lot's of great advice and for me and moved really quickly and gave many, many examples. I can actually say that I don't write non-fiction and thought this was for fiction. I started it and then realized it was non-fiction but it was really good and in the end I was hooked on the idea of writing a non-fiction piece. I'll have to give his other book a try too since he really does know how to write well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hugs!-Kat
Thanks for your help with the review link. I'll give it a try!

Thank you for the compliment, Carlym.
