On the Road by Jack Kerouac Finished reading this week: Collision Course, by William Shatner, Digital Fortress by Dan Brown, and Larry Niven's Ringworld Throne.
I started reading Halting State, by Charles Stross, but didn't get far due to difficult language. The story line seems interesting, but ... Anything by Dan Brown, really, but most particularly Digital Fortress. Oh.My.G-D was it awful. There have been other books that I have not finished for one reason or another, but mostly I picked them up later and finished them off. Digital Fortress I absolutely refuse to have anything else ... ... much fun trying to solve the puzzles before the solution came up a couple of pages later.
I have to say I didn't enjoy Digital Fortress so much. The terrible writing and total predictability was too intrusive. And somebody should tell him that even in a thriller you don't have to end every ... ... to breach Digital Fortress before it is sold on the internet to the highest bidder… but who can they trust?

This book was so bad it stained my soul. ... found The Da Vinci Code an amusing read; a wild tale. It wasn't all that good, but it wasn't horrible either.
Digital Fortress on the other hand, was awful, and should be left well alone. Dan Brown proves he has absolutely no clue on how crypto or computers work, and when those ... Digital Fortress by Dan Brown was horrific. I won't go near The Da Vinci Code because this guy is such a god-awful writer. (No offense to those who were Da Vinci Code fans!)
